Mental Health Awareness Month at Studio B Salon: Supporting Healing Through Art

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the importance of emotional well-being, reducing stigma, and supporting resources that help individuals and families navigate mental health challenges. At Studio B Salon, we believe self-care goes far beyond great hair — it’s about creating moments of confidence, connection, and healing.

Why Mental Health Matters: Mental health affects every part of our lives — how we think, feel, and interact with the world around us. Taking time for yourself, whether through small daily rituals or meaningful experiences, can make a powerful difference. Even something as simple as a salon visit can provide a reset, a confidence boost, and a reminder that caring for yourself is important. Throughout the month of May, a percentage of all retail sales at Studio B Salon will be donated to the Healing Arts Program at Bradley Hospital.

The Healing Arts Program uses creative expression — including art, music, and other therapeutic activities — to help children process emotions, reduce anxiety, and support mental health recovery in a compassionate and uplifting environment. These programs play an essential role in helping young patients heal beyond traditional clinical care.

How You Can Help? Supporting this initiative is simple: Shop your favorite professional haircare products during May, treat yourself to products that promote self-care at home, and know that your purchase directly supports children and families in our local community. Every product purchased helps extend creativity, comfort, and healing to children who need it most.

Self-Care with Purpose: We often talk about self-care as a luxury, but in reality, it’s a necessity. This month, we invite you to prioritize your well-being while helping us make a meaningful impact. Together, we can raise awareness, support mental health initiatives, and bring a little more kindness into our community — one small act at a time.
